Of course! Our guided kayak tours are great for experts and beginners alike. Our guides are Certified Eco Tours Guides in Puerto Rico that will give you brief instructions before cruising the calm, shallow backwaters of the estuary. It’s a great way to learn the sport!

It is customary to give a gratuity to service staff who have done a great job, just as you would for your server at a restaurant. Our guides work very hard to give you the best experience possible! Typical gratuity ranges from 10% -20% based on your experience. It is not required, but greatly appreciated.

The areas we are going to explore are commonly used by manatee, sea turtles, rays, cushion sea stars, and lots of other wildlife. Every day is different in the estuary, so there is no telling what we might encounter on any given day. You never know what you might find and it’s always an adventure in this extremely beautiful and unique natural area of the Condado Lagoon.

We allow ages 3+ on our kayaking trips with children under 16 joining an adult in a tandem kayak. Every group must have at least one participant over the age of 18. We usually recommend that children around 3 years old have strong communication skills so that they can fully enjoy the experience and communicate their comfort level effectively while on the water. We love helping kids discover the awesome wildlife in the estuary!

Yes. We use tandem kayak holds up to 400lbs. The combined weight of both paddlers must be below the kayak’s usable weight limit. The max weight limit per person is 275lbs. Please contact us if you have concerns or questions.

All tours depart at the specified time due to our schedule. It is imperative that guests arrive at the indicated time before the scheduled launch time, usually 20 minutes early, to avoid missing the tour. Leave plenty of time to arrive at the specified launch location indicated in your confirmation and reminder emails, and to locate our group on site. Account for transportation and traffic as it can be quite heavy during the busy months of December – April. Missing a tour due to a late arrival will not result in a refund.
-
During high season, our tours book up very quickly. We usually recommend making your reservations a few days to a week in advance for high season and at least a day in advance during the slower months.
-
We exclusively have tandem Crystal Clear Kayaks and Paddleboards for our tours and rentals. Tours use tandem kayaks only, and single paddlers will be paired with another paddler on site or can paddle a tandem kayak independently.
-
Our guides work hard to ensure we monitor all weather and tide conditions prior to every tour. Guides will make the final call based on their observations. Cancellations usually occur due to lightning or high winds for safety reasons and we are proactive on rescheduling if the conditions are less than optimal. We will still paddle if there is a little rain, but will accommodate rescheduling if conditions are less than ideal.

Attire will vary based on whether you are paddling in the daytime, or joining us for one of our famous LED Glow Kayak Night Tours. For sunny days we recommend a hat, sun protective clothing and or swimwear. When wearing sunscreen, we ask that you apply it sparingly and ensure that it’s rubbed in well to avoid getting it on the clear kayaks and impeding your view of the bottom. Lightweight quick dry clothing is a great option, and the best option for your feet is water shoes or protective footwear if you don’t mind getting wet.
-
Many of our paddles wear flip flops or water shoes. The best option is a shoe you don’t mind getting wet that grabs your feet, but most leave their shoes onshore while they are paddling. You are welcome to paddle with no shoes as long as you are comfortable getting in and out of the kayak.
-
Our kayaks come with clip-in paddled seats that host comfortable back rests.
-
Capsizing is very rare in the calm waters of Condado Lagoon. The kayaks are very stable and you’ll receive instruction from your certified guide prior to launching.
-
We suggest water to drink! We will have storage for you belonging on shore, and also have dry bags available if you would like to bring anything with you on the kayak. On guided tours, your guide will be taking photos that will be sent to you after the trip, so no need to risk your devices. All rentals are required to bring their mobile device so that you can contact us if you need assistance and dry bags are provided.

Yes. We require all paddlers to wear a life vest while in their kayak for safety reasons. After all, they work best when you wear them!
